HOOPESTON, Ill. - Mrs. Venie L. Foster, of 1013 W. Main Street, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday (Oct 8, 1979) at the Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She and her husband farmed west of Hoopeston for thirty-four years until they retired and moved to Hoopeston in 1974. She was a member of the Christian Church, Albert W. Woolson Relief Corp and Secret Pal Bingo Club. Born Oct. 8, 1904, at Fairfield, Va., she was the daughter of Arthur and Martha E. Snider Arehart. She married Russell E. "Hap" Foster on Sept. 15, 1923, at Attica, Ind. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Maxine) Terry of Hoopeston; a son, Elmer Foster of Wellington; a sister, Lula Cole of Williamsport, Ind.; a brother, Roy Arehart of Zelienople, Pa.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Brown-Alkire Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wheeler T. Harden officiating assisted by the Rev. John McArthur. Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery near Tab, Ind. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. - jlr
